The players drafting auction of IPL will be held in Mumbai on 20th February 2017 as the date of auction was extended from 4th February after the Supreme Court of India suspended the chairman of BCCI over illegal betting charges in IPL.
Vivo IPL 2017 Auction includes 750 players from India as well as from other international cricket teams whereas each cricket franchise purchased maximum 9 foreign players in their team and total 5 foreign players are include in the playing eleven of each cricket franchise.

The players included in auction of Indian Premier League are divided into different categories and their bids are made according to their assigned categories. The senior and experienced players are placed among top category of IPL 10.
As per the rules of IPL organizing committee, each team picks up 27 cricket players from auction and only 9 overseas players are included in this selection. During matches each cricket club is allow to add 5 foreign players in their team squad.
