England vs. South Africa 3rd Test, Day 2- South Africa step back in the game

Jonny Bairstow saved England on the second day
Lords: After struggling on the first day, South Africa came back into the gamethe help of Vernon Philander before England came back to take 3 quick wickets to bowl out South Africa for 309. England however did not get a good start due to controlled line and length bowling of South Africa, but then Jonny Bairstow stood as a warrior and gave some stability to the team.
Continuing from 262-7, South African lost the wicket of Dale Steyn. But a 37 runs partnership between Philander (61) and Morne Morkel (25) helped the team reach 308. For England, Steven Finn (4-75) and James Anderson (3-76) were the best bowlers which were the main reasons behind restricting Proteas to such score.
England batsman could not stand good in front of the Proteas seamers like Dale Steyn (2-48), Morne Morkel (2-53) and Philander (1-30) and got a struggling start at 54-4. But from there on, experienced Ian Bell (58) and young Bairstow understood their responsibility and played some nice strokes all over the ground. Thier 124 runs partnership helped England reach 208-5 by the end of the day. Bairstow was not out on 72 while Matt Prior was unbeaten on 22.
